49 Reasons I Love My Business
Never forget that your clients are why you’re here. Your business isn’t a formula. If you try to squeeze it into a cookie cutter box, you are doing your customers a huge disservice.
49 Reasons I Love My Business
I started up the online version of my strategy design and coaching business earlier this year, after working with clients offline for years. I started booking clients online in June.⠀
I popped in to my booking application yesterday to search for a client and noticed at the bottom of the screen was the total number of 49. Since June, I have helped 49 business owners with their strategy challenges.⠀
I was blown away by that number. That’s at least 49 conversations and 49 businesses I’ve touched somehow in the last 6 months.⠀
I have loved every one of them. Loved that these people are out there. Loved that they’ve come forward with such honesty and courage to lift up the skirts of their businesses and show me what’s underneath, so we can make it better.⠀
Never forget that your clients are why you’re here. Your business isn’t a formula. If you try to squeeze it into a cookie cutter box, you are doing your customers a huge disservice. You owe it to them to be totally you, totally unique and completely obsessed with making their lives (and yours) better.⠀
I find too often that business owners follow prescriptive guidance and templated business models, and then wonder why they are getting lacklustre results. You cannot build your business on swipe files (though they are the shit for some applications, for sure). ⠀
Care enough about your clients to build a unique business. Respect them enough to build a completely new approach. Be laser focused on their experience, how you make them feel, what kinds of problems you are solving for them every day.⠀
Without them, you’ve got no reason to love your business.⠀
⠀
Tell me in the comments…
What are you doing today to love your clients? How do you show them they mean the world to you? ⠀
