Giving Isn’t Just For the Holiday

Has anyone ever told you that you should start offering your services for free when you are launching a new business, or product, or service? Did you look at them like they were bananas, and back away slowly?

Well, stop that.

I probably spend 4-5 hours per week giving my services for free. Free strategy sessions, free coaching, free consults, help of all kinds.

That may seem looney tunes to you but since it’s the season of counting things down, let me count the ways that it’s one of the best strategies for growth and quality in your business:

Practice

Every time you deliver your service, or give your product to someone to try, you learn how to make it better AND you gain confidence. If you wait for paying clients, you’ll have a lot of catching up to do and be farther away from world dominating success.

Trust

You know who people buy from? People they trust. Your goodwill and obvious commitment to your community’s betterment signals that you give a shit about more than just the money.

Almost every free session I have done has resulted in potential clients who will come back to me when the time is right because I showed them that I cared and that they would be in good hands.

Referrals

I get about 80% of my business through referrals, so why wouldn’t I create a network of referrers as wide and broad as I can?

I know the work I do can be life changing and every single one of those people had such an emotional experience that they will not hesitate to recommend my services to others. It’s like having your own, massive sales team.

Testimonials

Ever tried to sell something just based on your word? Yeah, that’s tough. “Really, believe me, I’m better! I can, honestly, cross my heart, do all the things!”
