Good Things Come to Those Who Show Up Consistently and Trust the Process

What I wish I could tell every business owner out there is that this is a long game. There are a few things you need to do, always (in your own way), and do them consistently, over and over again.

Good Things Come to Those Who Show Up Consistently and Trust the Process

The fun thing about being in business for a while is getting to see clients achieve results. We entrepreneurs are not in the business of quick hits and rapid results. The real, sustainable growth happens over time, as we try and learn, over and over again.

I heard from a lady today that I had spoken to earlier in the year, when she was wondering about direction and strategy for building her business for growth.

Well, lo and behold, since then she had been working hard to achieve some pretty amazing growth and was now fully booked with some impressive income coming in.

I was beaming when I saw her message. Some combination of pride and wonder and cheerleading and awe. She had done what she said she was going to and had done it really, really well.

Yes, we have blips in the radar – that perfectly timed post or the ad copy that clicked – but those momentary hits are dangerous.

Not only do they give the false impression that this BUSINESS is booming, but they create such highs, which aren’t that common in growth phase, that they behave almost like an addiction…. once the initial rush is over, the business owner slips into anxiety, wondering how they will repeat those same crazy results again, and when they realize they may not, they can catastrophize the situation and spiral into defeatist thinking.

What I wish I could tell every business owner out there is that this is a long game. There are a few things you need to do, always (in your own way), and do them consistently, over and over again.

These things will slowly build you the foundation of credibility, viability and some other -bility word I’m not remembering now that will get you to consistent, reliable income. They need to be planned and scheduled, and executed with discipline, and I promise they will work.

When you’re searching for a quick win, it’s hard to trust the process and believe in the long game. Take a breath and step away from scarcity, invest in your plan and believe it will be effective.

It’s those who show up consistently and without interruption that reap the rewards. Over time. Always give it time.

Tell me in the comments…

What prevents you from consistently showing up in your business?
