I Want To Change Your Life. You Owe It To Yourself
A simple shift in her business model completely launched her life into places she never thought possible.
I want to change your life. You owe it to yourself.
She sat across from me at my table, palms facing up in front of her, hair disheveled. She looked like she’d been up for days.
“I’m done, Steph. I’m just done.”
Tears threatened, only a few blinks away. Her voice wavered with the heavy effort of composure.
“I feel stupid. I feel like an idiot. I’ve let everyone down, wasted so much time and money. And I’ve failed. There is nowhere else to go.”
Famous last words.
I let her talk. She needed it, but I did too. Because always, always, somewhere in the story is the answer. Somewhere in those details that seemed somehow unimportant, insignificant… mundane. Somewhere that is clouded over by the searing red light of disappointment and shame.
Somewhere in there was the answer.
I knew it when she said it. I knew it right away.
“My customers are bored.”
Of course they were. Her market was saturated. Her product was exceptional but it had no emotional pull so she was on a treadmill pointed straight up hill trying to stand out in a sea of sameness and bargain shoppers.
So we went radical. I wasn’t letting her give up. I wasn’t letting her admit defeat, because she had something special, she just couldn’t get her people to hear it. But that can be fixed.
She started off this year hoping to end the year at a regular monthly income of $5k. She just closed $20k last month. She’ll end the year at almost twice what she was aiming for and the train has left the station. Choo choo, indeed!
Ask me how much she loves her life now. Ask me if she sits at my table and cries now. Ask me how much resolve and confidence and power she exudes these days.
A simple shift in her business model completely launched her life into places she never thought possible.
She doesn’t stop smiling. Ever.
