“It feels like coming home.”

This here? This is probably the most amazing quote I have from a client, exclaimed out loud when I presented her with her new business model last week. It actually makes me a bit teary. Sniff. I’ve just got something in my eye…

What it also is is a very real and candid response to the moment she saw her business come into alignment. We had worked for 75 minutes, hashing through all her existing offers, customers, and varied business bits and bobs.

To her, it was an unstructured and confusing, tangly mess. What she didn’t realize was that she had all the diamonds in there already, we just had to draw the lines connecting the dots, polish them up and put them in their bright and shiny new boxes.

This isn’t the first time I’ve seen this happen. And it happens in an instant. When you’ve laid all your goods on the table, answered the questions honestly and left your business soul open for change, the answer shows up. I get to be the medium through which that answer shows itself. (This might also be a function of having a lot of experience, but since we’re getting all heart-centered these days…).

There are four areas where your business needs to be in alignment: your values, your goals, your offers and your customers. Once you understand the model, it becomes very clear how they all fit together to support each other. When that thread runs through your entire business, it’s as if it’s one big entity moving in sync vs. a bunch of individual parts.

An aligned business gives you energy, enthusiasm, clarity and focus and allows you to be confident that every step you take is moving you in the right direction.

And that feels really, really good.

Like coming home.

Tell me in the comments…

Where does your business feel like it’s out of alignment? Where does it feel really effing great?⠀
