Let Go of FOMO
Focus is the name of the game now, especially if you’ve already gotten some traction. Stay close and laser focused on that vision you’ve built. Work hard, but stay focused.⠀
Let Go of FOMO and Embrace Focus
The Internet is a wonderful thing. I was there when things first really started getting traction, and I’ve watched and marvelled at how it’s evolved and grown like a freight train down a mountain.
Back in the day, you threw up a site to resounding crickets and just hoped someone might stumble upon your tiled background and animated GIFs spinning around with abandon.
Today? Whatever we want is there, accessible, ready for our consumption. And consume, we do.
We learn all the possible things, and when all the possible things have been learned, more appears. How many different ways can you show up in the business world?
Listen, there’s such a thing as too much. We are let loose so recklessly into the sea of information that it’s impossible not to come back with too much.
To make it worse, even if we’ve managed to get started on a path, we’re still bombarded with messages and examples of all the OTHER things we should or can do.
Build a blog.
Make a product.
Be a coach.
Funnels, launches, copy, webinars, GAH.
But there’s only one of you.
One bright, shiny, exhausted you.
And you know what? If you don’t do all the things, you’re still gonna be ok.
In fact, you’re gonna be better.
Focus is the name of the game now, especially if you’ve already gotten some traction. Stay close and laser focused on that vision you’ve built. Work hard, but stay focused.
Because your clients? They aren’t everywhere. They aren’t sitting around waiting for you on YouTube and SnapChat and Twitter and Instagram all at the same time. They don’t all love video AND curated content AND podcasts with some live radio thrown in.
They could be primarily at the coffee shop down the street. Or in a forum dedicated to just them, where they can find their community in the few minutes they have each day to seek it out.
Go there, to them, and let everything else rest until you know it’s where you need to be.
I promise you’re not missing out. You’re getting stronger where you need to be and serving your people with deep and rich connection.
