Why A Simple Strategic Business Plan Is All You Need For Success

I felt guilty all the time because I hated doing work. I felt like I should be ashamed or that there was something wrong with me. Until I learned more about myself.

Start With What YOU Want

Focus on how to create a simple strategic business plan that is built upon your personality rather than follows a cookie-cutter business plan template.

I have a confession to make. I never liked doing work.

I know that sounds awful and bratty, but it’s true. I mean, I *did* the work, and I did the best job I could possibly do at the work, but I always hated it and would get bored so quickly without a new problem to solve, or with line of sight on the bigger picture and how I was contributing.

Sound familiar? I bet it does if you’re newly out of a J.O.B.

I felt guilty all the time because I hated doing work. I felt like I should be ashamed or that there was something wrong with me. Until I learned more about myself.

One of the things I’ve been studying intensely over the last couple of years is how our personalities are so important to our happiness and satisfaction in work (and in life).

In the 16 Personalities world, I’m the Commander (ENTJ). From 16personalities.com, the Commander is described as:

“If there’s anything ENTJs love, it’s a good challenge, big or small, and they firmly believe that given enough time and resources, they can achieve any goal. This quality makes people with the ENTJ personality type brilliant entrepreneurs, and their ability to think strategically and hold a long-term focus while executing each step of their plans with determination and precision makes them powerful business leaders.”

Reading that, it was like someone had suddenly said “It’s OK. You’re totally OK how you are.” and a lightbulb went off.

I need to be strategic. I need to lead and direct. Getting drowned in detail work and deliverables was in constant friction with who I was.

So I stopped taking on detail work. I stopped taking on deliverables. I designed a business around ME. And it’s been a revolution of happiness.

Can you imagine how this will change your life? It changed mine.

Tell me in the comments…

How will you design your business around you?
