You Don’t Need To Be Right, You Just Need to Be Brave
Stepping out on that ledge and believing, even just a tiny bit, that you CAN do this, that even if it’s not totally clear how it’s going to go down, you’re going to charge forward and make a move… that’s the turning point.
You Don’t Need To Be Right, You Just Need To Be Brave
Let me tell you a story about Mary. Mary is my client, and she is in the process of building her business, like all her peers. And, like so many of those peers, she is about to go out and try something that feels really, really, well, unreachable. ⠀
But she knows, logically, that it’s not, because she sees others do it. She’s seen her own success in the parts that have worked and has been encouraged to believe in a glimmer of hope that this thing has possibility.⠀
But it’s still a long… long… long step from here to there. And so many things that can go wrong. Which also means so many things that can go right.⠀
But this isn’t about being right. ⠀
If Mary froze because she didn’t know what was right, if she adopted a mindset that she only has one shot at this, if she waited for some divine intervention that made her feel completely sure, she will be waiting a long time, and that beautiful blonde hair may be touched with silver before she ever takes action.⠀
Stepping out on that ledge and believing, even just a tiny bit, that you CAN do this, that even if it’s not totally clear how it’s going to go down, you’re going to charge forward and make a move… that’s the turning point. That’s the single moment where everything changes. Not in a gargantuan, sparkly, “you won’t believe how quickly I was a success because I just started a blog and suddenly was a millionaire” kind of way.⠀
(That, right there, that fantasy in quotes, is a bunch of boss babe bullshit and you should run screaming from any such claim because it’s likely untrue, and also disrespects all the hard working business owners pushing the bar a little further forward day by day, doing real work)⠀
Progress happens because you make a choice. It happens the moment you decide that, even though you don’t know what’s on the other side of your go live, you’re going to do it anyway and just work with what you get. ⠀
All the myriad of things that hold you back, claw at your ankles and whisper paralyzing thoughts – all it takes to defeat them is bravery. No one is right, and no one is wrong. You just learn and keep moving forward.⠀
Tell me in the comments…
What seems unreachable to you in your business right now? What is paralyzing you from moving forward?
