Your Lady Balls Will Make You Rich
I wish I could take credit for the term “lady balls”, but I have to give credit where credit is due. My super kickass client/collaborator Jacqueline Fisch coined the term in one of her recent blog posts and I loved it like it was my third born child (first and second go to my actual kids so I stay eligible for Parent of the Year).⠀
Of course, the one with the lady balls is actually Jacq herself. You see, Jacq is levelling up her business in a serious way and plans to take no prisoners in her effort to do so. And by “take no prisoners,” I mean “not allow herself to second guess her actions.”⠀
We’ve been building her a solid strategy on which to build her dreams, and though she had the fundamentals in place, we tweaked some things to make it easier for her to reach her goals in less time. One of those things was the way she packaged and priced her offers.⠀
One of the most common challenges I see with entrepreneurs is that they undervalue themselves (cue imposter syndrome, pervasive scarcity, all the gremlins that keep us charging less than we are worth). When faced with the encouragement to raise their prices and ask for what they are worth, they will often grimace and look wide-eyed, overcome by discomfort. Some get over that quickly and others succumb, staying where they are comfortable and thinking being cheaper will get them more clients.⠀
That’s bull-oney. The only thing that will get you is a seat at the “Oh, that’s cute, she’s just starting out” table. And then your customers will pass you by on their way to find someone who’s playing big.⠀
Your pricing is a huge part of your brand, and if you want to be taken seriously, you’d better look like you respect yourself (provided, of course, that you actually have the skills to deliver).⠀
So, what did Lady Balls Fisch do? The day after our last session she turned around and sold her bigger package at double her old price and her customer didn’t blink an eye. ⠀
Because she was worth it, and they knew it.⠀
Armed with that confidence, Jacq can go forward with her new rates and reach her goal in half the time she had planned.⠀
How’s that for levelling up?
Tell me in the comments…
Are you still sitting at the just-starting-out table, or are you playing big?
